We recently delivered a speech transcription software for a healthcare client in the UK. Our client runs an IT company focused on healthcare solutions and also practices as a NHS registered dentist. From his own practical experience, he has seen first-hand the need to put patients at the center of clinical care service, and spend less time on paperwork.
With modern needs for personalized and comprehensive care for individuals, and requirements for record keeping to ensure patient safety, there is an increasing need for more medical documentation and patient narratives. Practitioners often find it a hassle and a very time-consuming task to collect and note down patient information. That said, there is an evident need to improve the process to boost efficiency and make the clinical workflow easier.
Our client came to us with the need to speed up the documentation process while still being able to capture the patient story more efficiently. The main requirement for this project was to build an effortless data input process by replacing the manual documentation with advanced speech transcription software. After identifying the business requirements, our team carried out in-depth research in the healthcare technology space and defined a development plan for the client based on the pain points in current process. To start, a content management dashboard was developed which made it possible to store and edit all of the questions and data points that needed to be documented. This dashboard can be customized for each surgery and also has a reporting functionality.
From here. the team integrated a proven and flexible third-party voice recognition tool with the system. Unlike Siri that requires an online connection, this application is offline database-enabled so the practitioners can use it anytime. After comprehensive testing and trial run, the software has been successfully deployed into use. Our client continues to collaborate with Shinetech and plans to roll-out the solution to the market.
